Text description provided by the architects. The Monfort en Chalosse project consists of the redevelopment of a standardized secondary school composed of several heterogeneous buildings.
The insertion of few intentionally synthetic design building and the conscious use of materials create an architectural link at the scale of the city within the vast landscape.
The landscaping alternates permeable and water retention areas that makes use of roof rain water for water management within the site. This project also includes the development and implementation of appropriate, fun signage to access the premises.
Within an occupied site, this project required very careful phasing of the works over a period of 18 months to follow a planned sequence during school holidays.
